Roses, roses and K F Rose plein air painting with a ShadeBuddy umbrella. |
A big thank you to all who came out to the Melrose Open Air Arts paint out last week and to all who volunteered their time to make this such a successful event.
I so enjoy talking with visitors and collectors and meeting new artists friends.
Also very pleased to have four of my paintings go to new homes!
Early spring is a wonderful plein air and paint out season in Florida and having some shade is really important when painting outdoors, (as well as sunscreen, cool water and bug spray).
My old umbrella had seen better times so I was excited to receive my new ShadeBuddy umbrella today! This umbrella has a reflective outer surface to help keep you cool and a dark inner surface to keep your colors true.
Always great to have painting buddies.

Lovely photo of you, Karen! I know you will enjoy your new "buddy." I have one similar to yours and it is a life saver for plein air painting!
Congratulations on 4 sales! You look wonderful in this photo - put it on a brochure or something! And I'm glad to get the lowdown on that umbrella - thanks!
Karen, Gorgeous photo and Congratulations on selling your work! Also so funny, I was looking at a gallery in Montgomery on line and there was a link to an artist who was commenting on the gallery and I clicked on her and you were in a photo with her. I was so excited to see you that I forgot to look at her name or her work. Crazy. I am going to find her again and let you know who it was. That is so something I would do! love love love
Ruthie that is a painter friend of mine. Dorinda Cheek.
We surprised her with a vist to her workshop where she was painting in Tuscany! Artist friendships are so special. So glad to have you as a new artist friend!
Judy loving that buddy umbrella. Just have to figure out how to secure it in the wind. Do you tie yours down somehow?
