Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and I always reflect on how grateful I am to have family, friends and patrons who encourage me in my artistic journey.

To those who have selected a painting and made it part of your collection...what an honor for me. Thank you. I so appreciate your kindness. To hear you say that one of my paintings has special meaning for you touches my heart.

To the fantastic workshop instructors and artist friends who have helped me stretch and grow as an artist this year..thank you.

Art shared between friends is such a blessing.

As the year will draw to a close, I am pleased to be showing work with some very talented pastel artists in the First Coast Pastel Society's Holiday Exhibit at Gallery 26 in Melrose, FL. I've had a sneak peek at some of the 48 paintings that will be in the exhibit and I guarantee that if you stop by the exhibit you will be delighted.
I do hope you can join us for First Friday Melrose Art Walk on December 6 from 6 to 9 pm. Should be a fun and festive evening.
That night be sure to stop into Melrose Bay Art Gallery for their Holiday Invitational Show.
Beach Melody is my oil painting on exhibit there. In fact you don't want to miss any of the galleries in town that night, so enjoy your evening.

Oh, there is a great place to purchase your freshly cut and fragrant holiday tree. Greathouse Butterfly Farm in Earleton just on the west side of Melrose
I have such great memories of heading out to a tree farm in Connecticut when our children were young and selecting our tree...but getting it into the tree stand when we got home..now that's a story for another day.

Happy Thanksgiving.

PAPSE Workshop Larry Moore, Bill Davidson and James Richards

Larry Moore painting a demo at Shem Creek in Charleston, SC,
Bill Davidson starting his demo of a marsh scene.
James Richards on Broad Street in Charleston, SC looking at the light.

On November 6, 7 and 8th I was fortunate to attend a Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAPSE) workshop in Charleston, SC.with instructors Larry Moore, Bill Davidson and Jim Richards
I have admired each artist's work and jumped at the chance to participate in the workshop to watch them paint in person and have a reunion with dear painting friends.

Galerie On Broad owner Kate Mullin is so sweet, when I made my reservation I knew this would be a special learning experience.
An added bonus was attending the PAPSE art exhibit of gorgeous paintings on Friday evening to see how each of the artists had painted their impressions of the town during the previous week.

The workshop was awesome and a great week of sharing. And did I mention lunch and dinner... seafood and Southern cuisine at  Slightly North of Broad and Magnolias  Vickerys and Water's Edge.
Each day we watched these talented instructors, talked art, enjoyed Southern food and had lots of laughs. With the help of my friends, Kathy, Dottie, Connie and Robin I even got my Southern lingo going...Y'all.

Slightly North of Broad hat
Slightly North of Broad had a hat that just made me laugh. I brought home this souvenir as a gift for my husband but hoping he will let me borrow it.
Enjoy your week!
