Karen F. Rose: North Florida Artist While nature and realistic elements are my source, painting softly leads me to look for the poetic element-what is not seen, but in reality, what is felt. My oil painting style has been Influenced by the painters of the late 19th and early 20th century. Painting in thin layers of transparent paint applied in a series of glazes lets light reflect off the canvas creating a luminous glow which I love.
